Preparing for JSIam

Are you ready for the Junior Scientist & Industry annual meeting?

To make the most out of the JSIam, here are a few tips:

  1. It’s time to make sure your CV is up-to-date and and formatted for the non-academic sectors you are interested in! Bring a few copies along with business cards on the event day.
  2. You may have a great ResearchGate profile, but it’s not the most relevant online network if you’re considering a career in industry, consulting, or going the entrepreneurship route. If you do not have a LinkedIn profile, create yours, with a custom URL, and start connecting with your colleagues and peers. You can find tips here and here for instance. And follow GIANT!
  3. Prepare a short speech of 1 minute to present yourself in order to not to waste too much time during the speed-networking session.
  4. Stand out from the crowd even before the event begins, and present your skills, interests and career objectives in the contest! Submit your entry soon!
